“Trees, Trails, and Tinted Skies”
February 19th – March 4th, 2009
Special Artist Reception February 19th, 2009
Time: 6:00 – 9:00 pm

Realistic landscape artist Romona Youngquist exhibits her tranquil scenes of rustic life. Her attention to detail and her skies that change with the light of day seem to mirror a true outdoor experience. As a self taught artist, Youngquist developed her talent by studying nature at a young age, which is shown in her paintings as they display a deep connection to the earth. She is able to capture the essence of nature with her oils, and discover true serenity in her finished pieces. Her paintings invoke a soothing mood no matter what room it is in!

Treasured Memories by Lane Timothy and John Schieffer
March 5-18, 2009
Special Artist Reception March 5th, 2009
Time: 6:00 – 9:00 pm

The art of realism reflecting past memories is captured by two accomplished artists, Lane Timothy and John Schieffer. Lane Timothy’s work harkens back to a simpler time, capturing figures from an historic era. The combination of retro imagery with the clean strokes and color pallet create modern pieces with a nostalgic vibe. Likewise, realist John Schieffer showcases such objects as marbles and toys which evoke memories of childhood. These still life paintings explore the color and value of objects giving under-appreciated objects a fresh take and unexpected persona.

Robert LaDuke's narrative paintings are a combination of memories, dreams and everyday life. Influenced by magazine ads from the post WWII era of the 1940's when life was depicted as simple and fun, LaDuke uses primarily antique steel toys as his subject matter in paintings that seem to tell stories much like in comic books.
